Registered Dental Assistant

My job involves supporting and assisting Dr. LaRae, our hygienists, and front staff, though the most important aspect of my job is caring for and serving our patients’ physical, emotional, and spiritual needs. I feel very fortunate to work with a doctor who shares the same belief system, goals, and aspirations. We both strive to serve people by giving of ourselves.

My husband and I have four grown children, three grandchildren, two miniature Schnauzers we refer to as our furry kids, and seven chickens. My time outside the office is spent at Gold Creek Community Church and working as a textile artist. I also love to cook, garden, and travel in our RV.

As I work one-on-one with each patient, I try to convey the importance of oral health care, not just for the mouth but for total body health. I also provide periodontal care and review home care and oral hygiene instruction. I really enjoy working with people and I am happy to help them keep their mouth and body healthy. It makes me feel good to see people take care of themselves because of what they’ve learned at our office.

The most important thing for me in my life is my family — my dear husband and my son.

I work alongside Dr. LaRae with patient care and help wherever I am needed on the clinic floor. When I joined this office more than 12 years ago, I never realized how great it would be to interact with so many interesting people while providing exceptional dental care. I truly love being a part of this team!

In my free time I enjoy spending time with my family, friends, and long-time boyfriend. I enjoy outdoor activities such as hiking, biking, backpacking, fishing, camping, and traveling. I even went with Dr. LaRae on a mission trip to Cambodia in 2005 to provide dental care.

In addition to assisting Dr. LaRae with patient care, I also help to keep the office running smoothly so our patients receive the personal attention they deserve. While I only recently joined the Gentle Touch team, I have more than 18 years of experience in the dental field. I truly feel that Dr. LaRae is a great dentist and cares about each and every patient. Knowing that our patients are getting the best care possible makes coming to work every day a true pleasure.

I’m happily married to my high school sweetheart and we have three beautiful girls. My favorite pastime is spending time with my family boating on the lake.

I have been a dental hygienist for more than 30 years, but working with the wonderful team and patients here at Gentle Touch Dental has been the best! It is very gratifying to work with patients on a personal basis, finding options for them to reach optimal oral health and ensuring a pleasant dental experience. We provide nothing but the very best for our patients here!

Outside the office, I enjoy spending my free time doing outdoor activities such as bicycling, running, and skiing. I also spend a lot of time cooking.

I joined Dr. LaRae and the Gentle Touch team 23 years ago and feel so blessed to be part of such a great team. While I work with patients to treat periodontal disease and provide hygiene care, the best part of my day is always getting to know each patient on a personal level and making their smile shine. It’s easy to do when working with someone as nurturing and caring as Dr. LaRae.

In addition to being a hygienist, I am also a professional musician: I teach and perform classical flute. I have four adult children and have been married to the love of my life for 32 years! Life is good; God is good.

My career in dentistry began in 1983. I made the great decision to join Gentle Touch Dental Group 11 years later. While performing cleanings is an essential aspect of my job, even more important is the education I give to patients on their oral health care and how it relates to their overall systemic health. Over time, we build great relationships based on trust and mutual respect.

I love to spend time with my family, especially at our cabin in Lake Chelan. I am also very involved and keep busy with my kids’ high school sports.
